Prof. Xu Liping and Xin Yu Won CICF Best Paper Award
The 2011 China International Conference in Finance (CICF 2011) was successfully held in Wuhan from July 4 to July 7, 2011. Associate Professor Xu Liping and Professor Xin Yu of SYSBS won CICF Best Paper Award with their co-authored paper Media Governance and Minority Shareholder Protection.
Organized by China Center for Financial Research (CCFR), Tsinghua University and Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, co-organized by Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business and School of Finance of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, CICF 2011 is considered as the most international high-level finance conference ever held in China. It provides finance scholars at home and overseas with an open and highly influential platform for academic exchange. The Program Committee CICF sifted through more than 800 submitted papers written in English or Chinese and finally 200 papers got accepted. After the strict evaluation two TCW Best Paper Awards, three CICF Best Paper Awards and two Yihong Xia Best Paper Awards were announced. The paper, co-authored by Associate Professor Xu Liping and Professor Xin Yu, was highly spoken of by the Program Committee and as a result won the 2011 CICF Best Paper Award. It is the only award-winning paper that is written in Chinese.
Moreover it is the second time that the CICF Best Paper Award has gone to SYSBS. In 2009 Professor Li Shanmin and Doctor Zhang Yuanchun earned the Award with their co-authored paper Institutional Environment, Transaction Rule and Efficiency of Corporate Control Sales. The above achievements not only indicate that the research capacity of SYSBS in the filed of finance has received popular recognition from professional around the world, but also play a positive and active role in building up academic reputation of SYSBS.
